Selected to team up with multinational leaders including Nestlé, GrainCorp and Tate & Lyle to fuel groundbreaking transformation in Food and Agriculture
Crested Butte, CO - September 25, 2018: TERRA, the leading Food and Agriculture Accelerator, has selected Jackson’s Honest into its third cohort kicking off next week in San Francisco - near the tech campus of RocketSpace - one of the program’s founding partners. Jackson’s Honest was selected as one of the 17 most innovative startups from across the globe to work alongside industry giants including founding partner Rabobank, as well as AgroFresh, Beta San Miguel, Graincorp, Griffith Foods, Grupo Azuca de Mexico, Nestlé USA, OSI and Tate & Lyle. Jackson’s Honest will be focused on partnering on a pilot project with Nestlé USA.
Founded in 2016, TERRA is a global innovation accelerator fueling groundbreaking transformation in Food & Agriculture in order to advance the well-being of our people and our planet. The program brings together experts, decision-makers, and innovators across the entire value chain - fostering connections that catapult major breakthroughs into scalable solutions by pairing emerging growth companies with established multinationals, in a pilot-driven engagement that leads to tangible results.
‘’We applied to the TERRA accelerator program in the hopes of partnering with, and learning from, a global consumer packaged goods company with a long history of building iconic consumer food brands" said Megan Reamer, co-founder of Jackson's Honest. "It is an honor and privilege to have been chosen as one of 16 companies selected from 470 applicants worldwide for TERRA's Cohort III. We view the opportunity to work with Nestlé USA - with whom we have been partnered in the TERRA Cohort III - as potentially major game changer for a start-up brand like Jackson's Honest. As one of the largest and most storied food companies in the world, we believe that Nestlé USA could dramatically accelerate our ability to reach consumers across the entire Jackson's Honest product line."
The TERRA team reviewed hundreds of applications from emerging growth companies around the world, shortlisting 160 applicants for only 17 spots. Startups selected represent eight countries. Unlike other accelerators, TERRA does not require equity from selected startups. They must have a product in market/ready to launch and have raised a minimum of seed-funding, better positioning them for productive pilot partnerships with corporate collaborators. Jackson’s Honest is an emerging consumer packaged goods company with an in-market salty snack portfolio.

Jackson’s Honest started in 2012 in Crested Butte, Colo., where founder/CEO Megan Reamer and her husband first started frying chips in their kitchen as a way to incorporate plant-based saturated fats into the diet of their four children, one of whom, Jackson, was stricken with an extremely rare autoimmune disease. In 2017, the mom-and-pop startup appeared on ABC television’s “Shark Tank” and signed a deal with famed brand guru Rohan Oza, former Chief Marketing Officer at Coca Cola and early investor in such iconic brands as Vitamin Water and Bai Drinks.
